Hi there,

Buttermilk Party Cake is about cooking, travel, adventure, and a love of all things edible. I am not a chef or an expert, just a curious enthusiast.

I started writing about food during my seven years of living in London, when I was working for a children's book publisher by day and eating, cooking, or talking about eating and cooking by night. Blogging was a great way for me to feel connected with my past in America and my present in the UK.

Eventually my husband and I gave up our jobs, moved back to the US, and lived in our car for six months while we drove around the country. We ended up settling in my hometown of Atlanta, GA, and I am lucky enough to be back in the children's book publishing industry. I also am a freelance editor and writer. As life back in the States became more hectic, I found that maintaining a blog became another obligation to worry about. I decided to stop posting for a while, and that while became...a very long while. Sometimes lovely kind people ask when I'm going to start posting again, and the answer is...sometime, maybe, when the mood strikes me. You'll know when you see a new post.
